I’ve been working with technology for over thirty years and in that time I’ve learned many things (often the hard way) about technology.
- Failure is not an option, it is inevitable. Technology will fail.
- The more complex the technology, the more ways it can fail.
- It’s not a matter of if a device will fail, but when it will fail.
- If your data is important, have at least three backups in three different locations.
- Easy upgrades are the exception, not the rule.
- If an upgrade seems to be going well, you’ve probably overlooked something.
- Statistically, turning it off then on again works a lot more often than it should.
