Cisco Switch Online

At long last I’ve finally brought the Cisco switch online and retired the Netgear switch and hub. I think it is time to start migrating profiles from the domain accounts to local users. Time to start simplifying and reducing overhead.

I think the DNS/NTP server needs some work, probably installing a NIC to replace the onboard NIC. The ifconfig shows it is sending & receiving packets but I can’t ping it and it doesn’t send out pings. It’s a bit of a problem.

Wouldn’t it be nice if a broadband router could include a simple DNS device. Just a thought.
